 Born on the 6-th of January 1970 in Pitsunda, Abkhazia.  She began studing music in Abkhazia. She graduated from the music school as a pianist in the city of Sukhumi. Later she continued her education in the Moscow Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky under the leadership of professor Irina Maslennikova specializing in vocal and then in the Postgraduate course of the Moscow Conservatory Nowdays she is a Prima of Moscow Academic Music Theater named after Stanyslavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko. Khibla is a winner of the following International competitions:

  • 2001 - Nomination for the best singer of the year in Russia

  • 1994 - 10. International Tchaikovsky Competition. Moscow (Russia). Grand Prix Winner.

  •              32. International Francesc Vinas Competition. Barcelona (Spain). 2nd Prize Winner.

  •              International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition. St.-Petersburg (Russia). 2nd Prize Winner.

  • 1993 - 33. International Competition «Voice Verdiane» Busseto (Italy). 3rd Prize Winner.

     Since 1990 Khibla performs as an opera singer with her solo concert program in Russia, France, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Netherlands, Greece, Japan, Abkhazia and others. Since 1994 and till present the company «Japan Arts» is regularly organizing the guest – appearance of Khibla Gerzmaa in Japan wich are of constant success. «Medlac Corporation» and «Japan Arts» have recorded a number of CDs with her solo concerts.
